The Society of Otago University Law Students (SOULS)The Society of Otago University Law Students (SOULS) is a student elected body responsible for promoting the interests of Law Students within the Faculty of Law. SOULS has a strong educational, social and advocacy role. http://www.souls.co.nz/ SOULS is responsible for organizing 4 legal competitions throughout the year, with winners going on to compete at national and international level. Providing both educational and practical skills, the competitions are an important part of law school. Otago law students are consistently ranked with the best in the county and around the world. Law social events are some of the highlights of the year. With the prestigious Law Ball and infamous Law Camp, the traditions of Law at Otago are upheld. Social events are essential to building collegiality within the law school, and are strongly supported by faculty and students alike. SOULS also acts as an advocate for all law students. Through close links with faculty, and participation in the class rep system and the Law Admissions Committee, SOULS ensures the interests of law students are well represented. All law students can be members of SOULS and we encourage everyone to get involved and make the most of their time at law school.
