Health Systems Law - University of Otago Intensive Course (GPCC500) 2011

The University of Otago and Buddle Findlay will hold a post-graduate focussed course in Health Systems Law, in Wellington from 26 - 29 April 2011. This course is designed specifically for senior clinicians, board members, chief executives, and senior managers working in the New Zealand health sector. It may also be of interest to post-graduate law students and practising lawyers with an interest in the field of health law.

What to expect
The course will consist of 4 full days of intensive teaching. Each day will include lectures, case studies, and small group work, addressing the most important legal issues and challenges faced by the health sector. Numbers are limited to allow plenty of interaction with presenters and other participants. Participants will be expected to prepare for the course with pre-course reading, and will be assessed by examination at the end of the course.

2010 University of Otago Law Postgraduate Symposium

Faculty of Law, University of Otago, Dunedin
Thursday 21 October 9am - 5pm

If you are currently doing a PhD or an LLM by thesis in any New Zealand law school, this event is for you. Our postgraduate students have asked for a day that focuses both on their research and on the potential outcomes it offers them in the future and we would be very happy for you to join us.

The first half of the day will feature sessions on practical topics relevant to postgraduate law study and beginning an academic career. Sessions will be led by senior law academics at the University of Otago. The second half of the day provides an opportunity for some postgraduate students to present short papers on their research in a conference-style format. This event is a great way to learn from the experience of others; to practice presenting your own papers and engage in discussion; and to meet academics and other postgraduates in the New Zealand legal community.
