Barry Allan
Barry
joined the Faculty in April 2002 after spending a number of years
in practise as a litigator and then eight years teaching various
business law papers at Massey University. This has led to Barry
having a wide field of legal experience. He is actually a graduate
of this University and has more recently obtained his Masters in
Law from Victoria University. Along the way, he has picked up a
BA in English Literature from Massey and hopes to progress to graduate
study in that as well as Philosophy now that he is at Otago.
His present teaching responsibilities are in the Law of Contract
and Law of Torts courses. Barry finds it difficult to limit himself
to a specific area of legal research, but is most actively involved
in the areas of credit law and secured transactions.
