Collection development and management is undertaken by the Information Resources (IR) staff.

Information Resources Liaison programme
The Information Resources Liaison programme provides each academic department with a contact person. The Library contact will work with department staff to ensure they receive information about new publications in their subject areas, new material arriving in the library, and status updates for open orders. Department Library Liaison Information
All departments have a designated staff member who coordinates the recommendations of titles for that department and forwards them to the Library. Information for Department Library Liaisons.
Recommending material
University staff can make recommendations for purchases in a number of ways;
- Online Book Recommendation Form
- Publishers’ blurbs
- By telephone
Recommendations can be posted to Information Resources for Central Library users or to the appropriate branch library via the internal mail. Addresses are as follows:
