Cabinet 15: Railway Magazines and Associations
Auckland Metropolitan Model Railway Club, The Stoker, February 1962.
As a member of many railway organisations, and his on-going correspondence with like-minded individuals, one can imagine the large amount of mail Webber received. Once his name and address were submitted, he could sit back and wait for it all to arrive. Modest publications like this typed issue of The Stoker (above) was one he received, as was the Rocky Mountain Railroad Clubs publication of Denver, Longmont and Northwestern (1952). The Newcomen Society was established in 1920 and named after Thomas Newcomen, the inventor of the first satisfactory steam, or atmospheric engine. Webber was a member of the American branch, and Katy Pioneer Railroad of the Southwest! 1865 (below) is one of their many fine limited edition printings that he owned.
Donald V. Fraser, Katy Pioneer Railroad of the Southwest! 1865. New York: Newcomen Society, 1953.
