Cabinet 18: Chronicles

Nuremburg Chronicle.

The Nuremburg Chronicle is an illustrated world history, and an important example of early printing. The work concerns human history as related in the Bible, but also includes the history of a number of European cities. Although Hartmann Schedel (1440-1514) contributed perhaps only as much as 10% of his own writing to the Nuremberg Chronicle, he is nevertheless regarded as its author.
