Marked up

Marked-up copies of Baxter’s ‘The Lion Skin’ and ‘Drunk’ offers fine examples of what is required to achieve the final printed copy. The corrector (certainly Maslen) has identified the need for the correct spacing between some words, letters and headings, an amendment such as replacing an exclamation with a question mark, the need for good even inking, and a general regard to layout. Of course, all these changes require more time and effort. And in order to obtain sense of what the publication might look like, someone has drawn a rough draft of the title-page.
