Letters of James Stephens

Letters of James Stephens

Some of James Stephens's friends included Maud Gonne, the radical nationalist, George Russell (A.E), (Sir) Horace Plunkett, Irish statesman, agricultural reformer, and founder of the Irish Dominion League, Yeats, Synge, Oliver St John Gogarty, the medico-poet, and George Moore. Like Stephens, they all played their part in the Irish literary revival. Here he is seated with some of those friends at the Aonach Tailteann (ancient games of Tara) festival in Dublin, August 1924.
