Currawong Publishing operated in Sydney from 1942 to 1951. This firm, who used the slogan: ‘You Can’t Go Wrong With a Currawong’, were committed to publishing Australia fiction, including westerns, romance and mystery. Alan Connell was a frequent writer for them. Malian Press (Sydney) reprinted under the ‘American Science Fiction’ banner novelettes from American magazines such as Amazing Stories and Thrilling Wonder Stories. John W. Campbell (1910-1971) was a respected US sci-fi writer and editor of Analog. Here is Malian’s reprint of his The Thing from Another World.

Another American was Jerry Sohl (1914-2002), who wrote numerous science fiction, fantasy, and mysteries. He was also a television writer for episodes of Star Trek, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and The Twilight Zone. Here is a reprint by Satellite Books of his 1956 masterpiece: The Mars Monopoly.
