The Ship of Dreams

The Ship of Dreams

In 1995, the third edition of Professor Alistair Fox's How to Study Literature in English: A Guide for the Advancing Student was published by the UOP. In 2008, he returned to the Press with his first book on New Zealand literature, The Ship of Dreams, a work on masculinity in contemporary New Zealand fiction. Dunedin artist Kathryn Madill did the crayon drawing on the front cover in response to reading 'The Inward Man', Fox's chapter on Maurice Gee. Indeed, Gee himself enjoyed reading the book and gave it to his biographer to read. Fox's experience with OUP was 'very satisfying.'
