Marsden and the New Zealand Mission Decolonizing Methodologies

Marsden and the New Zealand Mission

Joint publication is one way to ensure a book is published and, if successful, it generates benefits for all concerned. One of the first in a long line of co-published ventures by UOP was Havard-Williams’s editing of Samuel Marsden’s letters, which was produced in association with A. H. and A. W. Reed. Only 50 copies were printed at a cost of £17 10s 6d. More recently, the Press obtained Australasian rights for Linda Tuhiwai Smith’s Decolonizing Methodologies, which was first co-published with Zed Books, a London publisher. Intellectually, this book has been highly influential, and sales-wise, it has been a huge success.
