Neural Development and Disease Lab, Department of Biochemistry
The Neural Development and Disease lab focuses on the development, maintenance and diseases associated with motor neurons.
Our research uses neural cell lines, primary cultures and transgenic mice together with lentiviral mediated gene transfer to analyse the role of specific transcription factors in motor neuron development and disease.
We are also using lentiviral gene transfer to test therapeutic approaches for a group of lysosomal storage diseases, Batten's disease.
