Intro to Otago

Find out about the living and learning lifestyle that is waiting for you at the University of Otago. This booklet is for senior secondary school students and not only tells you the advantages of studying at the University of Otago but it also explains the different degrees available, how NCEA affects you, and what you should study now for different subjects. Important dates are also included.

Undergraduate Prospectus

If you're planning to study at the University of Otago for the first time, you need to take a look at the Prospectus which is out in June each year. It shows you the range of subjects available, helps you understand how Otago degrees are structured and provides important information on entrance requirements, enrolment, support services, and accommodation. Details of all the courses are also in the Guide to Enrolment.

Guide to Enrolment

The Guide to Enrolment contains information that will be of assistance and guidance to you if you are a first year student, a student transferring from other New Zealand universities, or if you are returning to the University of Otago. It has information on degree structures and the papers available. Use it to plan your course and then to complete your Registration Form.

Parents' Guide

We know going to university is a big decision and the University of Otago Parents' Guide is there to help. Is University the right choice? Is it worth it? What is it like? Otago for Australians

The University of Otago welcomes students from Australia with its great range of courses and flexible degree structures. Otago has unrestricted first-year entry into most of its courses and Australian citizens and permanent residents pay the same domestic fees as New Zealanders. They are also eligible for the New Zealand Government Student Loan Scheme.

Otago Distance Learning

Otago offers a vast range of courses that can be learnt off campus. Otago Distance Learning has information on courses offered, fees and enrolment procedures.
