Learning from open innovation in a context of less open country.

Research Outline

Omid' main interest lie in the field of open innovation, strategic innovation management, and international business. In his doctoral research, he aims to explain how firms operating in mature industries search and exploit knowledge. His study examines whether firms operating in a traditional sector can develop innovation through tapping into outside sources of knowledge, and, if so, how they accomplish. His study has adopted a mixed qualitative and quantitative methodology and expects to have a theoretical contribution to open innovation and absorptive capacity literature.

Background

Omid has a master degree in technology management with major in transferring technology from AllameTabatabaei University (Tehran, Iran). His master's thesis was on investigating challenges in the development of Iranian general aviation industry, and was awarded second place of M.S students. His bachelor is in industrial management from Shomal University, Iran.
