Te Waea Rapu Iwi

"Iwi Helpline"

For Mäori who want to identify who their Iwi are.

The Treaty of Waitangi Fisheries Commission, in cooperation with Iwi (tribes), is providing the opportunity for Mäori who do not know their Iwi to discover their tribal affiliations.

If you cannot speak Mäori or are not familiar with Mäori custom, you should not let that put you off.

If you want assistance to identify your Iwi please ring

Iwi Helpline:
0800 16 00 88

Or write to Iwi Helpline:
PO Box 12-048, Thordon, Wellingon.

An Iwi Helpline registration form will be sent to you with guidlines on how to proceed.

Iwi Helpline is a 24 hour service
