Laboratory TechnicianAlbie Zhou Portobello Marine Laboratory The main areas of my work at PML are experimental related stuff, such as equipment maintenance and calibrating, chemical reagents ordering, chemical waste disposal and make sure the lab consumables are stocked on time. Also I'm taking care of personal training such as Safe Method of Use (SMOU) for most of the equipments in the lab, Health & Safety and HSNO training for students and staff members. Before this, I was trained as a chemist. After I finished my study in the university, I started to work here as the lab technician. Mean while, I'm also working on my next master degree in Hazard Assessment & Management, because I do believe with all the knowledge and skills I have, it is possible to make a good change about the place we live in. Outside work I like to go on a ride with motorbike whenever I can. Use to skateboarding a lot before my knee cap still work as it should be ^&^. I'm start learning play jazz bass gaiter, so have to give up boxing to save my fingers. Well, I think that's all you need to know about me, will see you in the lab.
