My main areas of work at Portobello Marine Laboratory are small boating, grounds maintenance, co-ordinating of local field work and making sure that research materials such as dive gear, small boats/trailers and field equipment are all maintained and serviced.

Therefore you'll mainly find me out and about.

Here in the Marine Lab there are 3 small boats used for research purposes.

The "Nauplius" 6 mtr Mclay 140 hp, and a rowing boat 2 mtr "Miller & Tunnage"  hp (depending on the rower!).

Outside work I like to go on a couple of tramps each year to try to catch some back country trout (however never catch any :) ), try to go surfing sometimes since Sunny Dunedin's got some gr8 surf beaches and play in an indoor soccer league. Also just became a dad so that keeps me out of most trouble........
