PhD

Overview

Students with a BSc Honours or MSc degree may apply for admission to the PhD programme in order to conduct advanced and original research in marine science leading to production of a PhD thesis. Students must have at least one supervisor in the Department of Marine Science. PhD candidates from other departments of the University of Otago, or other universities, may be required to enrol in one or more papers as necessary to strengthen their background in Marine Science. PhD students should aim to complete their thesis in three years.
