Notes
Sometimes found living on brown and red seaweeds, this seaweed has glassy bead-like cells that are a rich iridescent green colour. The filaments can be solitary or occur in clusters. The glassy, bead-like cells increasing in size from base to apex. Small plants grow up to 12cm. The plant can also be found attached to rocks at or just below low tide. This seaweed tastes like fresh peas or cucumber! It is known to have a laxative effect, probably because of the saltwater contained in the bladders.
