Expressions of interest sought

  • Energy (impact) absorbing 3-D textile structures as alternatives to polymer-based foams in selected human-related applications - We are seeking expressions of interest from potential PhD candidates whose background is in textile engineering / technology: some knowledge of human physiology would be an advantage but is not essential.  For further information please contact Professor Raechel Laing (raechel.laing@otago.ac.nz)

  • Textiles worn against the skin — We are currently seeking expressions of interest from potential PhD candidates whose background is in assessment of textile properties: an understanding of human physiology would be an advantage. For further information please contact Professor Raechel Laing or Associate Professor Cheryl Wilson (enquiries.materials@otago.ac.nz).

  • Numerical modelling of sediment transportation on coastal vegetated dune systems: We are currently seeking expressions of interest from potential PhD candidates whose background is in engineering or coastal geomorphology. For further information please contact Associate Professor Sarah Wakes (CMAST.postgrad-coord@otago.ac.nz)

  • Modelling of the role humidity plays in human textile clothing interactions in a closed environment: We are currently seeking expressions of interest from potential PhD candidates whose background is in textile engineering or fluid dynamics. For further information please contact Associate Professor Sarah Wakes or Associate Professor Cheryl Wilson (CMAST.postgrad-coord@otago.ac.nz)
