Clinical skills in the undergraduate medical curriculum: An overview map (revised for 2016)

The Otago Medical School is working toward ensuring that clinical skills learning is consistent and co-ordinated for all students.

Members of the Clinical Skills Sub-Committee have developed a 'clinical skills map' and included not only the specific skills, but also our expectations of what level of learning the  students should achieve at each stage of training (by the end of year 3, year 5 and year 6).

Masterplan for the Otago Medical Course of the Future (revised 2015)

The Masterplan for the Otago Medical Course of the Future (PDF 400 KB) has been revised by the MB ChB Curriculum Committee (MCC) and recently endorsed by the OMS Executive, following a review of the document and feedback from staff and student representatives. The revised Masterplan aims to set the vision and direction of the medical course. It also highlights the many exciting changes and improvements that are taking place to enhance the quality of the Otago medical programme in both ELM and ALM.  It is aimed to guide those involved in designing, improving and delivering the course and should be referred to when considering changes.

The Masterplan will be reviewed again in 2018.

Yours sincerely
Professor Tim Wilkinson
Chair, MCC
