Audition Information for Musical Performance Programmes
Application Forms and Deadlines
The number of places available at undergraduate and graduate level is limited by our resources. Entry into these papers and programmes therefore depends on the successful completion of an audition process.
Those wishing to take a paper in Musical Performance are strongly advised to submit an application form in the year prior to study.
Leaving the process to the start of the year in which you wish to study is unwise: there are not likely to be many if any places available at that point, no matter how good you are.
The application deadlines for 2014 for the different programmes:
- Classical Performance – September 1, 2013
- Contemporary Performance & Professional Practice – September 1, 2013 and June 10, 2014
- World Music – September 1, 2013
Auditions for 2014 will be held as follows:
- Classical Performance - Saturday, 28th September 2013
- Contemporary Performance - Saturday, 28th September and Sunday, 29th September 2013 (alternative date - Saturday 26th October)
Late applications/auditions will be considered, but early application is recommended
Application Forms
Auditions From a Distance
You are strongly advised to attend the audition session in person at the Department of Music.
DVD Auditions
Applicants who are unable to attend the times allocated for auditions will be required to send a high quality DVD to the Secretary, Department of Music, for consideration.
This needs to be with the Secretary with your completed application form by September 1.
Notification of Acceptance
We endeavour to send offers of places by the end of October.
Following your audition you will be notified of the result. If you are offered a place, you are required to inform the Department as soon as possible whether you are accepting it.
