Mark McGuire

Mark is a Lecturer in Design Studies at the University of Otago.
He has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Guelph (Canada),
a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the School of Architecture
at the University of Waterloo (Canada) and a Master of Arts degree
in Information Science from the University of Otago.
He operated his own graphic design and consulting business in Toronto
for ten years before moved to Dunedin in 1993 and joining the Design
Studies staff the following year. He teaches courses in multimedia
production (DESI 411) and Media Theory (DESI 402) and supervises
300-level individual projects (DESI 305).
His research interests relate to the design and use of digital media.
He is currently researching web-based virtual communities
