Action NZ and the Cancer Society of New Zealand are hosting
this first New Zealand meeting on alcohol and cancer.
World Health Organization lists alcohol (ethyl alcohol) as
1 carcinogen, alongside asbestos and tobacco. Although the
link between alcohol and cancer has been known for a long
time, most people, including many health professionals and
makers, remain unaware of the association.
will address epidemiological, biological and clinical aspects
of the link between alcohol and cancer, as well as prevention
implications of the relationship between the two.

Exploring the relationship between compulsive
overeating and obesity: Causes, treatment, prevention, recovery
inaugural New Zealand Food Addiction Symposium attracted a diverse
group of delegates with an interest in the relationship
between food intake
with obesity, health professionals, academics, students, and
symposium programme included presentations from theory to practice
and lived experience of obesity/food addiction.
