As the 8th Director of the Otago Museum, Dr Griffin has inspired a greater focus on science engagement within the Museum and led the development of the Museum’s planetarium which opened in December 2015.
In this special seminar, Dr Griffin will talk about chasing the Southern Lights, or Aurora Australis, a passion which has led to many late hours photographing the lights in cold remote locations across New Zealand. It has also driven Dr Griffin to do “some remarkably silly”, yet inspiring things, such as hiring a Boeing 767 in search of his elusive quarry.
