Taxis & Shuttles

The Dunedin Airport is approximately a 30 minute drive from the airport to the city centre. Shuttle services meet arriving flights at the airport and cost $20.00 if pre-booked 0800 shuttle or http://www.supershuttle.co.nz. Shuttles (unbooked) and Taxis are available outside the domestic terminal and operate on metered fares costing $60-$75 one way

Monarch Cruise

The trip departs St David Street Complex by bus for a 45min trip down the Otago Peninsula then delegates board the Monarch for an hours cruise on the Otago Harbour before boarding the bus for the return journey. What will you see? Unrivalled wildlife viewing in its natural environment Northern Royal Albatross, blue penguins, terns, petrels, fur seals and more. In addition to this teeming wildlife you could also see other types of albatross, sea-lions, dolphins and whales while close offshore, flocks of Sooty Shearwaters feed among other shearwaters, mollymawks and many other pelagic species. Departure time: A bus will depart from outside the St David Street Complex on Cumberland Street at 2.30pm for the 3.15pm cruise. Bus returns back to the St David Street Complex at approximately 5.00pm

Cost per person: $55.00 includes bus transfer costs.

Additional Information: Dress appropriately it can get cold on the boat – complimentary jackets can be provided.

Speight’s Brewery Tour

One of the world's only gravity-fed breweries, Speight's Brewery is a Dunedin icon. The 90-minute tour of a working brewery and heritage centre is a must see for any visit to the South. Share the many fascinating facts and stories behind this famous New Zealand beer, from both a technical and historical angle. Tours wouldn't be complete without the chance to taste the range of beers brewed by Speight's - served in our private Heritage Bar with each beer given a full description as you sample. There is also an opportunity to bottle your own Speight's beer! Peruse the Speight's Shop for souvenirs for some great southern merchandise.

Departure time: A bus will depart from outside the St David Street Complex on Cumberland Street at 2.45pm for 3pm tour.

Cost per person: $25.00 includes bus transfer costs.

Additional Information : Visitors to Speight's Brewery will be visiting part of an operating environment and therefore safety procedures are a major priority. Anyone participating in tours must comply with safety regulations. It is important that visitors walking around the Brewery keep together as a group and should not touch any of the machinery. The complete tour is not considered suitable for people who use a walking aid, as there is a considerable number of stairs to descend. Visitors ideally will wear flat shoes. Jandals and sandals are not recommended.

Taieri Gorge Train

A visit to Dunedin is not complete without a trip on the Taieri Gorge Railway - one of the world's great train trips taking passengers from the hustle and bustle of Dunedin's city centre to the rugged mountain interior of Central Otago and return. Travel in the comfort of an award-winning train service as you experience an amazing variety of landscapes, including city, farmland, forests and the wild Taieri River Gorge. 

Departure time: A bus will depart from outside the St David Street Complex on Cumberland Street at 2.00pm for a 2.30pm departure, arriving back in Dunedin at 6.30pm.

Cost per person: $60.00 a 20% discount off the standard fare has been secured for Conference delegates. Includes bus transfer costs.

Additional Information: The arrival time back in Dunedin means that time is of the essence to attend the dinner. Entrees for the dinner will be served at 7.30pm so you do have some time to prepare.

Otago Museum

A visit to the Tropical Forest is a must see it’s an opportunity to experience hundreds of butterflies in their ‘natural’ environment flying free for your viewing pleasure.

Departure time: This is not an organised tour, entry is during Museum usual opening hours 10.00am – 5.00pm seven days a week.

Cost per person: Free admission for the museum. Admission to the Tropical Forest costs $9.50 per person. Other costs for special exhibitions may be charged.

Chinese Garden

The Chinese Garden was an initiative of the local Dunedin Chinese community to create a permanent reminder of the Chinese link to Dunedin. The garden is an authentic traditional Chinese garden in the heart of the city. One of the only three truly authentic gardens created outside China. If the conference has been a mentally exhausting experience then taking time to rest and reflect in the garden should be a priority.

Departure time:This is not an organised tour entry is during The Garden’s usual opening hours 10.00am – 5.00pm seven days a week

Cost per person: $8.00 casual entry
