Vice-Chancellor Professor Harlene Hayne will update University of Otago staff on the progress of the Support Services Review (SSR) at a forum on Friday.
The forum will be held at the University of Otago College of Education Auditorium at 12.10pm. It will also be livestreamed to Otago’s campuses in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Invercargill. Dunedin staff are also able to view the livestream.
The SSR has been under way since September 2015 and is designed to find ways to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of service, to increase career opportunities for professional staff, and to free up resources for strategic opportunities in teaching, research and enhanced student experience. To date, the SSR has involved more than 200 workshops and forums with staff and fortnightly meetings with the Unions.
Professor Hayne says that the SSR project team delivered its business case to the Steering Group in May. This Friday’s forum is an opportunity to update staff on the main features of the business case and to open a period of consultation about the changes that are being proposed.
Professor Hayne says all staff are welcome to attend the forum, and she strongly encourages everyone to attend or to view the forum online.
