postgrad open day image Postgraduate study will be the focus of a large expo in the University Link early next month.

The first Postgraduate Open Day was held last year and was so successful that it will be even bigger this year.

Fifty booths showcasing more than 70 areas of study, as well as student services available to postgraduate students, will be staffed from 10am to 2pm on Tuesday 5 August.

Postgraduate Marketing and Communications Coordinator Fiona Clarkson says the first expo proved it was a great event for undergraduate students to research their future study options in one place.

“It was a change from our previous information evenings but given the increase in numbers of departments taking part, it has shown itself to be a good way to promote postgraduate degrees and qualifications to a wider audience.

“Otago was shown in the last PBRF results to be New Zealand’s leading postgraduate research university, which is a great reason to encourage our students to stay on and complete their postgraduate qualifications with us.”
