The Audit Program
Otago Clinical Audit is built on the industry standard Microsoft
.NET platform. It is designed to allow data input and reporting
on a broad
range of computer platforms. This includes support not only for Windows
desktop PCs but also Microsoft Pocket PC devices. Software updates
are delivered automatically over the internet.
The system is scalable across different sized organizations,
from single surgeon practices through to regional health authorities.
It can be set
up in a number of different configurations to cater for anyone
from
a Registrar through to a state wide public health organization.

Otago Clinical Audit is used in cardiothoracic, urology, orthopaedics,
general & vascular, ophthalmology, paediatrics, neurosurgery, gynaecology,
otolaryngology, plastic & facio-maxillary services in hospitals
and clinics throughout Australasia. It is possible to define and collect
additional data of interest to a specialty group.

3rd Party System Integration
Otago Clinical Audit is designed to integrate with other 3rd party
software packages. In particular it is configured to receive data from
patient
management systems and theatre management systems. Integration with
the application is via Web Services. Documentation is available on the
web
service interfaces and we can provide consulting to assist with integration
at an additional cost.
The Otago Clinical Audit Benchmark Datastore is also configured to
allow receipt of clinical audit reporting data from 3rd party audit
packages.
This allows reporting and benchmarking of data against the extensive
Otago Clinical Audit dataset.
