As Director of Pacific Development Tasileta is responsible for monitoring the progress of the Pacific Strategic Framework, which has been adopted by the University of Otago in December 2012.

The Framework is the University’s commitment to ensuring equity in student achievement.

Ana Hoseit_June 2015Ana Hoseit – Pacific Projects Administrator BA (Hons), MA (Otago)

Ana joined the Office of Pacific Development in August 2014. Ana’s role is to provide high level assistance to the Director, Pacific Development, together with leading the management and delivery of key Pacific Strategic Framework projects, as well as ensuring the effective financial and administrative management of the Office of Pacific Development.

Previous to commencing her current role Ana completed her studies with the Sociology department and then went on to work for the department as a Tutor and then Teaching Fellow. Prior to studying at the University of Otago Ana worked in various administration roles over fifteen years both in New Zealand and overseas.

Ala Teu_June 2015Ala Teu BPhED (Hons), MPH (Otago) – Assistant Research Fellow

Ala works as an assistant research fellow for the Pacific Development Office assisting in a research project that looks at Pacific students and their university experiences. Ala has completed a Bachelor of Physical Education (Hons) and recently completed a Master in Public Health. Her research topic explored factors influencing the transition and academic success of Pacific first-year students in the Health Sciences First Year Programme. Ala leads this research project which extends her research interests around Pacific student retention and achievement and their first-year experiences at the University of Otago.
