Become another proud Pacific Otago graduate

Otago has a very proud tradition of assisting Pacific people to excel through education.  The achievements of some of our most notable Pacific alumni are nothing short of inspirational.

Sir Tom Davis was the first Cook Islands medical graduate in New Zealand and went on to serve as Prime Minister of the Cook Islands from 1978-1983.  Another outstanding leader was Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara who became the first Prime Minister of Fiji, serving from 1970-1992. 

In New Zealand, the first Pacific Islander to become a District Court Judge was Judge A’eau Semi Epati who studied Law at Otago.  Celebrated opera singer Jonathan Lemalu is another proud Pacific Otago law graduate.
