Pacific On-Campus Experience (POCE) Day Programme
for Pacific secondary school students

What is the Pacific On-Campus Experience (POCE)?

POCE is an opportunity for Year 13 students of Pacific Islands descent to learn more about the University of Otago. This Day Programme is run in conjunction with the Otago Tertiary Information Day. The Programme is free of charge. Students are responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs.

You will experience the following:

  • Being guided and supported by Pacific staff and academic mentors to attend your selected lectures from the Dunedin Tertiary Open Day Programme. (We will assist you to preselect your lectures from this programme)
  • Being inspired by University lecturers and students.
  • Learning about appropriate academic pathways.
  • Learning about Pacific@Otago student support services.
  • Information session for any parents, support teachers and community members accompanying you.

Since this will be during school term, applicants should seek permission to participate in this programme and also ask for a reference from their school principal.

Students must register to attend this Programme.

Come and make the most of our 'experience' to ensure your successful transition to tertiary studies.

Please Note: Participation in the OCE does not guarantee entrance to the University of Otago.
