    Overview

    An introduction to the concepts of entrepreneurship. Factors that lead towards entrepreneurial success and the skills and behaviours necessary to be a successful international entrepreneur.

    The course will cover the characteristics and mindset of entrepreneurs, understanding entrepreneurial biases, ideating and evaluating opportunities, and creative problem solving. The course will also provide an introduction to market segmentation, primary market research, building business models and design thinking which are so fundamental to conceptualising, progressing, and launching new ventures.

    Paper Structure

    ENTR411 Introduction to Entrepreneurship will address, among other topics, how to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, understanding entrepreneurial biases, ideating and evaluating opportunities, creative problem solving, industry analysis and business model innovation. All of these topics are so fundamental to conceptualising and launching new ventures.

    Understanding of Entrepreneurship:

    • Identify problems, opportunities and creative solutions
    • Building a viable business model around the challenges
    • Driving force of new venture success
    Teaching Arrangements

    Five days (dates to be confirmed closer to paper opening) of intensive teaching on the Dunedin campus: 26th February 2024 (Monday) - 1st March 2024 (Friday)
