SUPERVISOR: Charles Pigden
I am, in particular, concerned with problems in political and moral philosophy.
Currently, I am occupied with consent and contract theory, political obligation, justification and legitimacy, as well as the concept of authority, from a Lockean angle.
Here, in addition to contemporary philosophy, my focus is on seventeenth-century English political thought, in particular the conflict between patriarchalism and contract theory.
Also, the is/ought question is to me of a particular interest; especially with regard to promissory obligation.
