Umove - exercise for neurological conditions

What is Umove?

The Umove programme is a community exercise clinic based at the School of Physiotherapy. The Umove programme aims to enhance movement, physical activity participation, and fitness for people with neurological conditions. The programme is delivered by undergraduate physiotherapy students under the supervision of a registered physiotherapist.

Who can attend Umove?

Anybody with a neurological disability is welcome to attend Umove. Current participants have a wide range of neurological conditions including stroke, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and Parkinson’s disease, and range in age from 15-90 years of age.

Benefits of the programme

The Umove programme is underpinned by a strong evidence base for the health benefits of regular exercise participation for people with long term health conditions.
You will work closely with physiotherapy students to develop an individualised exercise plan to help meet your health and fitness goals.
