Polar ice-ocean physics and modelling

The polar ice-ocean physics and modelling programme brings together staff and students working in polar physical oceanography, sea ice physics, and environmental mathematical modelling.

Current research includes Antarctica and Arctic sea ice growth processes, the interaction of ice shelves with polar oceans, and wave interactions with sea ice floes.

Field work is primarily carried out in McMurdo Sound, Antarctica.
