Dr Iati Iati

Lecturer

I received my PhD from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. My research interests are focussed on the social and political implications of the 'good governance agenda' for Pacific island countries. In particular, I am interested in how policies intended to strengthen civil society and reform customary land tenure systems will affect traditional political institutions and the rights and welfare of Pacific island people.

My current projects focus on political issues in Samoa: The Price for Two Decades of Political Stability, Controversial Land Reform in Samoa, and Interrogating the Myth of the Samoa-Tonga Wars.
