Dr Rudd taught at the Universities of Newcastle and Essex in England before coming to New Zealand. His research interests are political communications and political marketing.
His publications include: Political Communications in New Zealand (co-edited with Janine Hayward 2004); Sovereignty under Siege? Globalization and New Zealand (Aldershot: Ashgate, 2005) (co-edited with Robert Patman) and Informing Voters? Politics, Media and the New Zealand Election 2008 (co-edited with Janine Hayward and Geoff Craig, 2009).
