Conference theme
An enduring theme in mental health ethics and law is the use of coercion and its justification in the light of the normal weight put on patient autonomy and informed consent. The legal and ethical elements of this theme are constantly being renewed as new practices and evidence begin to emerge. In this conference we aim to pick up on the latest variations on this theme. We invite mental health practitioners, health lawyers, ethicists and researchers in other disciplines to submit abstracts on any aspect of coercion in mental health practice.
Conference Organisers
The conference is being organised by the Philosophy, Psychiatry and Psychology Group at Otago University.
