Jim MacAloonJim McAloon is Associate Professor in History at the University of Victoria, Wellington. He has published widely in New Zealand labour, economic and social history. Major research projects at present are the history of economic policy in New Zealand 1945-84, and (in collaboration with a number of scholars in different universities) Scottish migration to New Zealand. He is the author of No Idle Rich: the Wealthy in Canterbury and Otago 1840-1914 (2002), which won the History section in the Montana NZ Book Awards in 2003, and the Archives and Records Association of NZ Ian Wards Prize in 2002.
