Mark Adams

Mark Adams is one of New Zealand's most distinguished documentary photographers. His work on New Zealand landscape, Samoan tattooing, Maori-Pakeha interactions, and historic sites around the South Island has been extensively exhibited at major museums and galleries within New Zealand, as well as in Europe, Australia, South Africa, and Brazil. His previous publications including Rauru (2009), Land of Memories (1993) and Cook's Sites: Revisiting History (1999) were produced with anthropologist Nicholas Thomas, who calls Adam's work 'an engagement with the deep artful, bloody and inextricably complicated histories of colonialism in the Pacific'.
