Roger MaakaRoger Maaka is a professor and head of the Department of Native Studies at the University of His research interests include social change in Maori and Western Canadian Aboriginal societies, urban Maori/Aboriginal communities and societies, and indigeneity as an international social phenomenon. The Politics of Indigeneity: Challenging Indigenous the State in Canada and Aotearoa New Zealand is written with Augie Fleras (Otago University Press, 2005).
