Tony Ballantyne

Tony Ballantyne lectures in History at the University of Otago, specialising in transnational history.

His publications include Orientalism and Race: Aryanism in the British Empire (Palgrave-Macmillan, 2001) and Between Colonialism and Diaspora: Sikh Cultural Formations, 1780–2000 (forthcoming). With Judith Bennett, he is co-editor of Landscape/Community: Perspectives from New Zealand (Otago University Press, 2005), and with Brian Moloughney is co-editor of Disputed Histories: Imagining New Zealand's Pasts (Otago University Press, 2006) .
