Stolen laptops
Friday, 7 October 2011
This is the time of year when study places in the libraries are at a premium. Some students have taken to leaving their property on the desk when they go for lunch or to a lecture in order to ‘reserve’ their seat. Some even leave their laptops for up to an hour.
Over the past few weeks we have noted over 20 laptops sitting unattended in the Central Library on a daily basis. We have also received complaints that students have returned to their desk and found their laptop has been stolen.
At this time of year with exams looming and all your lesson notes held on your laptop, the last thing you should do is put it out for display and make it very easy for people to walk off with it.
If you leave your desk, please make sure you take your valuable possessions with you. After all, you wouldn’t leave $1000 cash just sitting there unattended, would you?
