“I’m part of the team responsible for all ICU transfer flights in the UAE Military and we crew the helicopter for anything requiring Search and Rescue. We also crew the Airforce’s medical flights from Iraq and Afghanistan and in times of disaster, such as the Pakistan Earthquake, to repatriate victims.
“I chose Otago because it is well-known in aero-medical care circles as the only university offering top quality graduate studies. The course is well-structured and a fantastic entry into the field of aero-medical care. The course notes are of a high standard and the lecturers are readily available and truly committed to their students’ requirements.
“Eventually I’d like to secure a teaching post at a university in the United Kingdom, and help institute aero-medical care as a part of the Paramedic Science Degree programmes. This would enable paramedics to secure flight posts earlier on in their careers.”
