David has studied Sociology, Communication Studies and Philosophy in his undergraduate years at Otago. At the centre for Sustainability, he has worked on a method for quantifying food waste in New Zealand, and on clarifying a social science perspective on the palatability of entomophagy (eating insects) to western cultures.
Summary of Masters Topic
David is currently investigating the minor public concern about the incidence of food insecurity and hunger in New Zealand households, and how food banks and their operation interact with this situation.
