Horse Treks - "beginner and intermediate"

INTRODUCTION

A variety of horse treks to suit different levels of experience. Choose from treks through the farm hills of Deborah Bay; or more experienced riders will enjoy stretching out along the expanse of beaches at Aramoana.

Transport and all equipment is provided. Please meet at the Unipol Recreation Centre at the designated time.

Safety and comfort considerations mean these treks have a weight limit of 100kg, please don't be offended if this impacts on your ability to participate on these treks.

 

•  DEBORAH BAY - BEGINNERS

Enjoy a 2 hour trek in the hills around Deborah Bay, enjoy the views and farm life along the way. There is also an opportunity to try out your skills in the purpose built arena. A safe and relaxing journey at the pace for beginners. Group size 6

Saturday 4 February

9.30am - 12.30pm

 

•  DEBORAH BAY - INTERMEDIATE (two riders of equal ability can enjoy this ride)

Spend three hours riding on the stunning beaches of Aramoana where you can view wildlife such as seals and penguins. Trotting and cantering may be involved.

Please note that this trek is designed to be for 2 riders of roughly the same ability.

GENERAL INFORMATION

In the event of bad weather, we will endeavour to run the treks on an alternative date that suits all participants. This will be arragnged as soon a practically possibly. If there is any doubt about the weather conditions, please call the Unipol Recreation Centre ph 479-5888 within 1.5 hours of the starting time for an update.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

Please bring/wear:

•  Clothing suitable for horse riding (fitted long trousers and a jacket)

•  Comfortable footwear (shoes or boots with small heels)

•  Warm and windproof clothing (including woolly hat and gloves) with you on colder days.

•  Sunscreen

•  Camera

•  You may wish to bring a snack

Deborah Bay - Beginner Students $65, Staff $75, Public $85

Deborah Bay - Intermediate Students $135, Staff $145, Public $155
