Maintenance INTRODUCTION
Apprehensive about fiddling with your bike? Had a go fixing a minor problem and ended up taking your bike and the leftover bits into a bike shop? Maybe it need not be as bad as all that. Here is an opportunity for you to get more familiar with the workings of a bike.
The course includes:
- selection and use of specific cycle tools and workshop equipment
- correct fitting of parts to cycle
- bearing replacement process
- spoke replacement and the basics of wheel building
- adjustment of cables - index and standard gears and brakes
- lubrication of your cycle
Please note - this is not a course in repairing your own bike - but you will get the opportunity to learn the necessary skills which you can use to apply to your bike in your own time after you've done the course.
