Horse Riding - Beginners
INTRODUCTION
If you've dreamed of trying horse riding, then here's a fun and safe way to start!
This 3-week course is aimed at the complete beginner and designed to teach you the basic skills of horse riding. We'll provide all equipment, transport and a friendly horse!
Week 1 - Getting to know your horse, basic horse care, tacking up, assessment of your horse, rider's position in a walk and trot.
Week 2 - Tacking up, horsemanship skills (forming a partnership with your horse) and developing your riding skills.
Week 3 - Tacking up and building on from week 2 while putting what you have learnt into practice, maybe trying some more advanced riding exercises if your skills are well developed.
(Each lesson is approximately 1 hour)

*If for any reason e.g. wet weather, a session is postponed, a "catch-up" session will be held the following week at the same time. Please ensure you are also available for this date before you enrol. If there is any doubt about the weather conditions, please phone the Recreation Centre ph 4795888 from 11.00am onwards.

TRANSPORT
Transport will leave Unipol Recreation Centre at the stated start time.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Please bring/wear:
• Clothing suitable for horse riding (fitted long trousers and a jacket)
• Comfortable footwear (shoes or boots with small heels)
• Warm and windproof clothing (including woolly hat and gloves) with you on colder days.
• Sunscreen
• Camera
• You may wish to bring a snack
