Silver
Jewellery Making - "Lost Wax Method"
INTRODUCTION
During this course you will use everyday tools to make easy and inexpensive jewellery in a style of your choice.
Learn how to create "production" jewellery pieces. You will carve a ring pattern into wax, which will then be created into a mould from which pieces can be produced in bronze, silver or sterling silver.
The first three sessions will be spent carving out your wax patterns, the wax pattern is then sent away for moulding, and the final session is spent sanding and polishing the finished product.
WHAT IS PROVIDED AND WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Equipment, instruction, and materials for your first piece are provided.
Transport is provided for those who require it. Please let us know when you enrol if you require transport.
Please wear old clothes and bring a snack if you wish. Tea & coffee is provided.
If time permits, there may be the opportunity to make extra pieces. Materials can be purchased from the tutor for additional projects.
